Position Details
This hospital has 133 beds. Usual staffing is 14 Junior Doctors who work side by side with the Consultants, (there are no Registrars). The Hospital is about a 5-minute drive from the town centre. It is a very modern Hospital with Medical, Surgical, and Adult Rehab wards, a Maternity unit, Paediatric ward, Day Patient unit, and an 8 bed ICU / CCU.
This City has a population of 350,000 and offers a host of activities from exploring the most scenic areas of New Zealand, boating, fishing in lakes and rivers, that are among the best in the world, sports fishing off the coast, to climbing and tramping. Excellent recreational facilities exist within the town boundary giving the opportunity to participate in numerous other indoor and outdoor pursuits.
Position Requirements
Applicants will need to be PGY2 at a minimum with relevant experience in this speciality and be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
