General Surgery Registrar Locum
About the role
Hawke's Bay Hospital are looking for a general surgery registrar with availability between 9th March - 31st July 2026.
Smaller blocks of work will be considered so please reach out with any availability you may have.
Duties: Standard day time duties (clinics, theatre, acutes etc) with the possibility of a few long days (if candidate is agreeable).
Hours:
Standard day - 0730 - 1600
Long day - 0730 - 2230
All travel and accommodation is provided and booked on your behalf by Triple0.
ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
With all major specialties represented onsite except Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery and Cardiothoracic, this hospital is one of the largest provincial hospitals in New Zealand. ICU has 11 beds and Coronary Care Unit 6. Operating Theatre has eight theatres plus a dedicated Endoscopy Unit. Diagnostic facilities on site include MRI, 40 slice CT scanner, nuclear medicine, laboratory services etc. Full emergency retrieval and transport services are available with a rescue helicopter based on site. The Hospital has a strong reputation for excellent quality of experience there are many opportunities for pursuing vocational training across all specialities.
