About the role
Whaiora Medical Centre is a kaupapa Maori, Cornerstone-accredited general practice based in Masterton, in the heart of the beautiful Wairarapa region. We currently provide care for approximately 3,100 enrolled patients living across the Masterton District and are looking to grow our patient base through the recruitment of one or more additional General Practitioners.
The wider Wairarapa region has a population of around 51,400, with Masterton home to approximately 28,900 residents. Whaiora operates as a VLCA (Very Low Cost Access) practice, supporting a community with significant health needs and a predominantly low socio-economic demographic.
Whaiora is supported by a dedicated and highly collaborative workforce. We currently have:

We are currently seeking two General Practitioners, ideally available for:
- 8–10 sessions per week
- Women’s health
- Insertion and removal of IUDs
