Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Proven clinical expertise in intensive care and critical care medicine
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary setting
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining patient safety and quality standards
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
• Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical excellence

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience in advanced airway management and invasive procedures
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and critical care equipment
• Participation in quality improvement initiatives or teaching roles
• Knowledge of NZ healthcare systems and protocols

Preferred Experience

• Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in intensive care or related specialties
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, escalate, and manage complex cases effectively
• Experience working in a team-based approach to patient care in high-acuity settings
• Evidence of ongoing professional development through audits, seminars, or research initiatives

• Eligibility and right to work in New Zealand
• Flexibility to participate in on-call and roster rotations
• Completion of standard onboarding and compliance checks, including health and police clearances
• Willingness to engage in regional travel if required
