Required Skills & Essential Qualifications
- Proven clinical expertise in intensive care and critical care medicine
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary setting
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining patient safety and quality standards
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical excellence
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience in advanced airway management and invasive procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and critical care equipment
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives or teaching roles
- Knowledge of NZ healthcare systems and protocols
Preferred Experience
- Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in intensive care or related specialties
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, escalate, and manage complex cases effectively
- Experience working in a team-based approach to patient care in high-acuity settings
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through audits, seminars, or research initiatives
Other Requirements
- Eligibility and right to work in New Zealand
- Flexibility to participate in on-call and roster rotations
- Completion of standard onboarding and compliance checks, including health and police clearances
- Willingness to engage in regional travel if required
