Required Skills & Essential Qualifications
- Proven clinical capability in general medicine or related fields
- Strong communication skills, able to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to manage a busy clinical workload efficiently
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience in outpatient or hospital-based general medicine services
- Skills in patient education and health promotion
- Familiarity with evidence-based practice and clinical audits
- Ability to adapt to a wide range of clinical scenarios
- Knowledge of NZ healthcare systems and protocols
Preferred Experience
- Relevant postgraduate clinical experience in general medicine or similar settings
- Strong clinical reasoning, prioritisation, and escalation skills
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Evidence of ongoing professional development, including participation in audits, teaching, or quality improvement initiatives
- Experience in a rural or regional healthcare setting is advantageous
Other Requirements
- Must hold appropriate NZ registration as applicable to the role
- Flexibility for shift and on-call duties as required
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand, with compliance checks completed prior to start
- Willingness to participate in onboarding and mandatory trainings
