Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Proven clinical capability in general medicine or related fields
• Strong communication skills, able to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Ability to manage a busy clinical workload efficiently
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience in outpatient or hospital-based general medicine services
• Skills in patient education and health promotion
• Familiarity with evidence-based practice and clinical audits
• Ability to adapt to a wide range of clinical scenarios
• Knowledge of NZ healthcare systems and protocols

Preferred Experience

• Relevant postgraduate clinical experience in general medicine or similar settings
• Strong clinical reasoning, prioritisation, and escalation skills
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
• Evidence of ongoing professional development, including participation in audits, teaching, or quality improvement initiatives
• Experience in a rural or regional healthcare setting is advantageous

• Must hold appropriate NZ registration as applicable to the role
• Flexibility for shift and on-call duties as required
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand, with compliance checks completed prior to start
• Willingness to participate in onboarding and mandatory trainings
