Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Proven clinical expertise in gastroenterology, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy and dynamic clinical environment
• Strong commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and ethical practice
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience in advanced endoscopy or specialized gastroenterological procedures
• Background in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives
• Knowledge of Pacific health issues or multicultural patient populations
• Previous experience working in or with regional healthcare services

Preferred Experience

• Significant postgraduate clinical experience in a hospital or gastroenterology department
• Skilled in managing a broad spectrum of gastroenterological conditions with independent decision-making ability
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting
• Evidence of ongoing professional development through audits, teaching, or quality initiatives

• Must hold appropriate NZ registration as applicable to the role
• Flexibility to participate in on-call or after-hours services as needed
• Willingness to undergo standard onboarding and compliance checks
• Ability to relocate or commute to Blenheim
