Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Proven clinical capability in gastroenterology and digestive health management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous improvement
• Ability to work in a busy clinical environment with accuracy and compassion
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
• Flexibility to accommodate on-call duties and shared responsibility shifts

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience in endoscopy procedures and advanced diagnostic techniques
• Background in teaching, research, or quality improvement initiatives
• Familiarity with health IT systems and electronic medical records
• Multilingual abilities or experience working in diverse communities

Preferred Experience

• Extensive clinical experience in gastroenterology, ideally within a similar healthcare setting
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and escalate urgent cases effectively
• Proven team-based practice with excellent communication skills in multidisciplinary teams
• Engagement in ongoing professional development, audits, or clinical teaching
