Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Proven clinical capability in general medicine, with experience in primary or emergency care setting preferred
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities efficiently
• Flexibility to adapt to various clinical responsibilities and schedules
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with urgent care or community-based medicine
• Familiarity with electronic health records systems
• Skills in health promotion and preventative care
• Previous experience working in rural or regional healthcare settings
• Ability to speak additional languages is advantageous

Preferred Experience

• Several years of postgraduate clinical experience in general practice or hospital medicine
• Skilled in clinical reasoning, prioritisation, and escalation of patient issues
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Evidence of ongoing professional development, such as participation in audits, teaching, or quality improvement projects
• Comfortable managing a broad scope of general medical conditions across diverse patient demographics

• Eligible to work and practice in New Zealand
• Flexible with roster and on-call duties, if applicable
• Completion of standard onboarding and compliance checks
• Willingness to contribute to a positive and collaborative clinical environment
