Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Strong clinical understanding of paediatric care and evidence-based practice
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Proven ability to work safely and efficiently in busy clinical environments
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality improvement
• Capable of prioritising and escalating care as appropriate
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience working in paediatric or acute care settings
• Ability to adapt to changing workload demands and maintain professionalism
• Familiarity with contemporary healthcare practices and guidelines in paediatrics
• Enthusiasm for professional development, including audits, teaching, or quality initiatives
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation

Preferred Experience

• Relevant postgraduate clinical experience in paediatrics or similar services
• Practical experience in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and learning in paediatric care
• Experience in high-volume, fast-paced clinical settings

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand and relevant visas/permissions if applicable
• Flexibility to participate in rostered shifts and on-call responsibilities
• Completion of standard onboarding and compliance checks
