Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Proven clinical capability in pediatric health care
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and team members
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to safety, quality improvement, and patient-centered care
• Adaptability to busy and varied clinical environments
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience in outpatient and acute pediatric settings
• Familiarity with community and primary care pediatrics
• Knowledge of childhood illness prevention and promotion
• Prior involvement in teaching or mentoring junior staff
• Skills in child development assessment

Preferred Experience

• Relevant postgraduate clinical experience in paediatric services or similar settings
• Strong clinical reasoning, prioritisation, and escalation skills
• Track record of collaborative practice in multidisciplinary teams
• Evidence of ongoing professional development, audits, or quality initiatives
• Experience working in rural or regional healthcare environments

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand
• Flexibility to participate in on-call or weekend rosters as required
• Ability to complete standard onboarding and compliance checks
• Willingness to contribute to community health initiatives if needed
