Required Skills & Essential Qualifications
- Proven clinical capability in orthopaedic surgery with a strong surgical skill set
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, fostering collaborative patient care
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment
- Safe and quality-focused approach to patient management
- Ability to adapt and remain calm under pressure
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience in trauma or elective orthopaedic procedures
- Knowledge of recent advances and best practices in orthopaedic trauma and reconstruction
- Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and planning
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
Preferred Experience
- Relevant postgraduate experience in orthopaedic surgery or related specialties
- Sound clinical reasoning, prioritisation, and escalation skills
- Prior experience working in multidisciplinary teams within hospital or surgical settings
- Evidence of continuous professional development through audits, teaching, or QI initiatives
Other Requirements
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand and hold the necessary registration
- Flexibility to participate in rosters, on-call, and after-hours work as required
- Completion of standard onboarding and compliance checks
