Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Strong capability in general medicine, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management.
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, wh?nau, and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Sound clinical judgement, prioritisation, and escalation skills.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and professional standards.
• Ability to remain effective in a busy clinical environment.
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience contributing to clinical audits or quality improvement initiatives.
• Confidence supporting junior colleagues, students, or other members of the clinical team.
• Interest in teaching, supervision, or service development.
• Familiarity with electronic clinical records and contemporary healthcare workflows.

Preferred Experience

• Recent experience providing general medical care in a hospital or comparable clinical setting.
