Required Skills & Essential Qualifications

• Specialist capability in cardiology, with a strong commitment to safe, patient-centred care.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and decision-making skills.
• Clear and compassionate communication with patients, wh?nau, and colleagues.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach to clinical safety, quality improvement, and continuous service development.
• Must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience supporting service improvement or clinical audit activity.
• Confidence contributing to teaching, supervision, or professional development.
• Familiarity with contemporary cardiology investigations and treatment pathways.

Preferred Experience

• Relevant postgraduate clinical experience in cardiology or a similar specialist setting.
• Experience managing a varied caseload in a busy healthcare environment.

• Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary services.
• Ongoing involvement in teaching, audit, quality improvement, or service development.
